In this week's horoscope, Kyle and I briefly talked about Venus moving into Libra, which is a welcome change given the skies we've been dealing with recently. And while that alone is enough to get us excited (along with Mercury Stationing Direct, though I’m sure you’ve heard about that from plenty of astrologers), this is just a preview of Venus' gifts.
Next week and the week after, Kyle and I will discuss how Venus in Libra and Saturn in Pisces will be in a great position to help each other out. But since you’re here already, I thought I'd give you a little preview of why that is and what you can do to benefit from this brief, yet powerful, moment.
If you know even just a little bit about astrology, the reason why Venus in Libra is a big deal is pretty obvious. Venus rules Libra, which just means she’s extra capable of delivering the vibes ✨ she loves to shower us earthlings with. Like we said in today's horoscope, it’s like Venus is at home, fully equipped to do what she does best—whether that’s sex, music, wining and dining, peacemaking, hanging out, or just enjoying the good things in life.
Now, Saturn in Pisces is more of a mystery.
If you’ve been watching our horoscopes week to week, you’ll have noticed that Saturn doesn’t exactly feel super capable in Pisces. If Venus loves hanging out and enjoying life, Saturn loves the grind, takes things seriously, and won’t shy away from finding hurdles and obstacles to overcome (or sometimes, to drop in our way). Pisces isn’t exactly a serious landscape, though. It’s the place in the zodiac where planets go to empty themselves out, go for a swim, and wax philosophical about nothingness™️.
Still, even though Saturn might be lost in the mist, Venus coming into Libra gives Saturn some much-needed direction. That’s because Libra and Pisces are what we call signs in antiscia in astrology, which basically means they reflect each other to some degree. Plus, Saturn is exalted in Libra, and Venus is exalted in Pisces, which makes this planetary team-up even more potent.
Most people don’t know this, but last year Kyle and I made our first video on this very topic. It was a trial run, so we never posted it. But if you’re curious, let us know, and we might drop it on the channel. The image above is from that video, inscribed with the Latin "Serena Pacifica," meaning "Peaceful Serenity," which perfectly captures this alignment.
While researching for that video, I was drawn to Andrea Zittel's work, particularly her Flat Field Works Series, which resonates with the astrological theme of this particular 'Mutual Exaltation'—Venus in Libra and Saturn in Pisces. Interestingly, Zittel’s birth chart features this configuration, along with a Capricorn Ascendant, making Saturn a focal planet in her life.
Zittel describes her artistic approach as an exploration of simple forms that shift based on their context, mirroring the mutable nature of Pisces and Saturn's focus on material reality. The beauty in her work oscillates between the simple and complex, reflecting Venus' and Saturn's influence.
She further explains that a plane or panel is an amorphous form that shifts between categories based on context—serving as a platform for actions or a carrier of meaning, much like our own minds accumulate thoughts. Her work teaches the essence of 'Refinement': allowing a single thought or idea to flow and evolve naturally, rather than forcing it into something rigid.
And yeah, I know this might be getting a little abstract, but we’re talking Pisces here, so you’ve got to bear with me. The main takeaway here is that over the next few weeks, with Venus in Libra and Saturn in Pisces, the themes of simplicity and minimalism might be easier to grasp and bring into our lives. Honestly, that’s much needed given our current maximalist landscape.
We often think of Libra as synonymous with beauty and balance, but I think we tend to understate Saturn's influence on this sign. Saturn is a force that denies rather than affirms, which to me means that one of the primary ways Libra offers beauty is by restricting certain influences in our lives. With the South Node still in Libra, for the next two weeks, we have this expedited push to flush out redundancies in our lives—especially the stuff that’s been causing disorder and overwhelm in recent weeks. Venus in Libra is, in many ways, the repair task force for the Mutable T-Square (a.k.a. the past two weeks’ shit show) we’ve been going on and on about in the daily horoscopes.
Electional astrologers might get all hyped up about all the things that can be DONE now that Venus is in Libra, but I think that’s a bit of a misinterpretation. This isn’t about adding more to your plate; it’s more about figuring out how to RECEIVE more by doing less. Like Zittel's work, these next two weeks should be a time to appreciate the many facets of your plain yet extraordinary life, rather than trying to create something new from scratch time and time again (like a mutable Saturn might attempt to do). This transit is a meditation on simplicity and sustainability, and I think the best move during these days is mindful inaction. Find peace in knowing that you don’t need to do more than what you’re already doing because every second, and every minute, has a purpose—even if that purpose is just to be in the moment.
Enjoy Venus in Libra, y'all ⚖️
