Neptune Entering Saturn's Bound in Pisces & What It Means

Neptune in Pisces has been making slow progress through the sign since it began its journey back in 2011. Recently, Neptune completed its retrograde cycle, and on February 1st, 2025, it will enter the last bound, also known as the Egyptian bound, of Pisces. This phase is said to be under Saturn's supervision.

Most ancient astrologers didn’t speak highly of this bound. I believe this is because Pisces is one of the most benefic and fertile signs of the zodiac. Pisces is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of freedom, wisdom, and bounty, and it is where Venus, the goddess of love, union, and pleasure, is exalted to her highest heights. Having such a positive sign enter the bounds of Saturn, the lord of discipline and structure, can be challenging. This transition is often viewed as a less than pleasing experience. However, as discussed in the Astrology Channel's episode, there are still many positive aspects to be found even during this bound.

One of the main themes we explore is how Neptune, being in the last bound of Pisces, symbolizes the closing of cycles and sets the stage for new beginnings. During this transit, we may confront essential questions about the past 14 years of our lives:

Is our collective investment of time and energy bearing fruit?

Are the sacrifices we've made truly worth it?

When it comes to Outer Planets like Neptune, it's important to recognize that these are questions our society is collectively asking, rather than focusing solely on individual lives. While there is overlap, I encourage you to consider your role in shaping societal dynamics. At the end of this article, I’ll provide personal insights to help you understand how your life intersects with these themes based on your rising sign. I hope that will be helpful!

The Venus, North Node & Neptune Conjunction

Neptune’s ingress into the last bound of Pisces is also marked by the Venus-North Node-Neptune conjunction. This conjunction adds another layer of depth to Neptune's transit, highlighting themes of attachment and idealism.

In the episode, Kyle and I discussed how this configuration—though honestly quite awesome—has the potential to emphasize an attachment to such awesomeness. This part of Neptune's journey is about wrapping up the past few years, which may have been filled with fantastical explorations and a sweet naivety about future possibilities. Now that we've entered Saturn's bounds and are approaching a Saturn-Neptune conjunction, we're likely to face the challenges of materializing these visions.

As mentioned in the episode, this process is expected to continue through March 30th of this year. However, Neptune and Saturn will retrograde back into these degrees later in the fall, indicating that while the peak of this transit is now, we will likely deal with its effects throughout 2025. From my perspective, while many might be celebrating the Venus-North Node-Neptune conjunction now, experiencing Neptune in Aries this summer will prompt many to reassess where our ambitions really lie for the next 14 years.

TLDR

Neptune's transition into the last bound of Pisces marks a significant period of reflection and reassessment for both individuals and society as a whole. During this time, pay close attention to attachments to how things used to be and allow new developments to settle without making any major commitments just yet. Neptune in Aries will be a 14-year transit, providing ample time to understand its benefits and challenges. If you're interested in learning more about this transit and its nuances, be sure to watch our episode where Kyle and I give you more details about how it all works.

If you're curious about your role in this transit, below you'll find some of my thoughts on what this might mean for you based on your rising sign (a.k.a. ascendant).

What Does it Mean for You?

Aries Rising: Now is the moment to take stock of your ambitions. This Saturn-bound period is linked to your public persona and how your pursuit of ideals can sometimes push you further away from them. Since Neptune is influencing collective ideals, it could be interesting to delineate the difference between your personal philosophy of what makes you successful versus what the world currently deems success to look like.

Taurus Rising: This Saturn-bound period can sometimes address how your faith and personal philosophy intersect with your dreams and aspirations. This transit could be a valuable time for solidifying your belief in whatever you hold dear, whether it's a higher power or your own self. You benefit from this transit occurring in a very supportive area of your chart, making it a moment when you might realize that the "big dream" you have isn't as unattainable as you once thought.

Gemini Rising: Neptune transiting through the last bound of Pisces concludes a major transit affecting your career and ambitions. The last bound, in particular, can highlight issues around fear and immobility. This could be a time when some of your fears about your potential begin to dissolve, leaving you with a much clearer picture of the path forward. However, with fear out of the way, the pressure to act can begin to build..

Cancer Rising: Neptune in Pisces has been a transit of great revelations for Cancerians. These past 14 years may have helped you gain a much stronger sense of your philosophical beliefs and how you can use these discoveries to improve both your life and the lives of your loved ones. This last bound places even greater emphasis on others, crystallizing your understanding of your place in the world by sharing your intimate knowledge with those around you.

Leo Rising: Neptune in Pisces might have been a challenging transit for most Leos, and this final phase seems to be the toughest part. Neptune has been transiting an area of your chart that can sometimes make you feel lethargic, afraid, and confused. This last bound highlights how some of these fears can take a physical toll over time. For Leos, this is a good time to face some of these fears. You might discover that some of your agitated responses were warranted, while others (if not most) were simply products of your imagination.

Virgo Rising: Neptune traveling through Pisces has cast a fog over your ability to judge others' characters. Over the past 14 years, you might have encountered many situations where someone seemed like the ideal partner (whether romantically or otherwise), only to be disappointed once the Neptunian illusions faded. Now that Neptune is in the last bound, you've had ample time to recognize its tricks. In this final bound, Neptune is keenly invested in turning some of these fantasies into reality, making this an exceptionally fertile time for Virgo in both romantic and creative endeavors.

Libra Rising: You might not have had the best relationship with Neptune over the past 14 years, but at least this last bound ingress could bring some of these challenges to a close. Neptune has been transiting an area of your chart that can induce a persistent sense of fatigue. The worst part is that the source of this lethargy can be difficult to pinpoint. However, for you, the last bound of Pisces is especially apt at bringing things to a conclusion. It's important to note that Venus, the planet that represents you, will be closely conjunct with Neptune during this shift, potentially allowing you to finally discover the source of your ails despite the long and challenging journey.

Scorpio Rising: For you, Neptune has been an enjoyable ride. Over the past 14 years, this transit might have been marked by escapades, fleeting romances, and a wellspring of creativity that became a great ally. As this chapter ends, the last bound of Pisces focuses on stabilizing some of that excitement. Fourteen years is a long time, and you've likely grown and changed significantly since then. As you grow, this could be a time to assess which thrilling activities still bring you joy versus those that stem from escapism or manic attachment.

Sagittarius Rising: We tend to think of Sagittarius as a sign that prefers mobility over growing roots at home. However, for some of you, Neptune may have made the idea of being close to your family or roots appealing. Now that Neptune is wrapping up these last 14 years, the ingress into this final chapter might bring questions about the practicality of settling down. You could soon face a world that encourages and facilitates your adventurous spirit, prompting you to question whether this homebound period has truly been worth the sacrifices you've made.

Capricorn Rising: Establishing a routine and making it run like a well-oiled machine is challenging when Neptune dampens and complicates your plans. Neptune has been transiting an area of your chart that can tempt you to drop your work in favor of a more hazy, relaxed pace. While some Capricorns can afford such relaxation, most have a lot of work to do. Now that Neptune is preparing to leave this part of your chart, there's a greater emphasis on your agency. This could be a time when Neptune's influence begins to loosen, allowing you to say no to procrastination with greater ease.

Aquarius Rising: Neptune has held sway over your finances for a while now. While this transit isn't necessarily bad for your finances, it can make it hard to maintain a solid understanding of your cash flow. This lack of clarity can be frustrating for an Aquarius, and these final moments of Neptune in Pisces may exacerbate that feeling. You might feel blind to your options for financial growth moving forward. The good news is that once this transit concludes, your bank account will no longer be influenced by Neptune.

Pisces Rising: Neptune has been transiting through your own sign, creating a significant impact. The past 14 years may have been marked by lofty dreams and aspirations, many of which might not have materialized. The interesting aspect of this last bound is that it's related to the area of your chart that deals with your goals and aspirations. This could be a time when Neptune shows its kinder side, letting you know that not all your dreams will lead to failure. It might be that these dead ends, after much distress, are now leading to a place full of possibility. It may not be exactly what you imagined, but it's something you can work with.
